Considering research from the Institute of Education and the Education Endowment Foundation, this half day session explores why maximising the impact of Teaching Assistants is a leadership issue. Delegates will be invited to debate current issues of policy, deployment and skillset and share observations made within their own context on ‘perceptions of practice’ in formulating a TA policy which effectively meets need.

WRAP Level 3 - Home Office Accredited Training Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent (WRAP) training Level 3 available for all academies. PREVENT is part of the Home Office's Counter Terroism Strategy and is about stopping people becoming terroists or supporting vilolent extremism. PREVENT is about stopping all forms of violent extremism, be that Extreme Right Wing, Al Qaeda inspired, extreme left wing animal rights, IRA. WRAP training covers issues such as crime, normal social processes that are used ti influence and manipulate extreme right-wing Al-Qaeda case studies, terroist ideologies and factors which may contribute to an individuals susceptability to terroist ideology.

Taking advantage of the SEND Review Guide, which aims to improve outcomes for learners with SEND, in establishing framework for evaluating provision. To maximise beenfits of the SEND REview Guide, a full day's tarining is provided to explore how best to utilise peer-to-perr review. The day focuses on how to prepare for the day of the review itself, approaches to gatherng evidence on the day of the review and good practcie in providing feedback and reporting. The training is essential for academies intent on strengthening SEND Self-evaluation, as well as gaining skills in undertaking on-going peer review and support.

Code: AAT/19/155 Two Day Training for Designated Senior Leader for Mental Health (Level 3) (Cambridgeshire) (Cancelled)

The Ofqual-regulated 2 day level 3 qualification in 'Supervising First Aid for Mental Health' will be delivered in conjunction with NUCO and First Aid Awards LTD. (n.b This course does not contribute to your annual monitoring of first aid courses) A range of subjects are covered in detail including how to recognise a range of mental health conditions and information about stress, depression, self harm, suicide, eating disorders, pshychosis, schizophrenia and anxiety.

The qualification is assesed through two written assessment papers and the practical demonstration of completing a first aid action plan for mental health. 

Please note a nomimal charge of £20 per person is applicable, this covers the cost of the trainin manual, accreditation and certificate.

This two session workshop will provide colleagues with researched based information about interventions and class-based strategies that can be successful in improving reading outcomes for vulnerable learners. Colleagues will need to attend both Part 1 and Part 2 of the training. After an introduction to researched strategies and interventions during the first session, colleagues will then have the opportunity to implement planned changes to the delivery of reading back in their own Academy. The second training session will provide the opportunity for colleagues to network and reflect on the impact of the reading strategies implemented, sharing best practice across the Trust.
