Code: AAT/19/134 Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (Cancelled)

The Ofqual regulated half day level 1 award in 'Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health' will be delivered in conjunction with NUCO and first Aid Awards LTD. (Please note this course does not contribute to your annual monitoring of first aid courses) This course will provide colleagues with an introduction to what mental Health is and how to recognise different mental health conditions. The qulaification is assessed through a written assessment paper which the learner must pass to be awarded the qualification.

Please note a nominal charge of £10 per session is appicable; this covers the cost of the training manual, accreditation and certificate.

Venue will be either South Yorkshire or Cambridge, decided by the location of the majority of participants.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, all staff must have access to Level 1 (equivalent) Safeguarding training at least every three years, alongside an annual update/refresher in Safeguarding and Child Protection. This course can be delivered as a refresher (1-2 hours) or the full Level
1 (which lasts 3 hours). Staff will be introduced to key legislation and guidance, to the types of abuse and neglect, key indicators of abuse, the ways in which children and young people can be vulnerable to abuse, harm or exploitation and understand their role in safeguarding including how to manage a disclosure, where to go for help and how to raise concerns regarding staff behaviour.
